Designing the full payments experience for a fast-growing merchant platform

Hyfin is a payments platform that helps merchants get paid faster, invoices, payment links, checkout, and recurring billing in one place. We came in as a design partner to build a new design language for the product and design the full experience across a vast surface area, from the merchant dashboard to the mobile app and client-facing portal.

Merchants need a fast read on their cash position: what's been paid, what's outstanding, what's coming in. We designed a dashboard that surfaces payment activity at a glance, so checking in on the business doesn't mean digging through reports.

Getting invoices paid the same day is core to what Hyfin promises. We rebuilt invoice creation and tracking so merchants can send an invoice in seconds and see its status update the moment a customer pays.

Every payment ties back to a customer record: payment history, contact details, saved methods. We designed Customers as the central profile merchants return to, so there's one place to see a customer's full relationship with the business.

This is the ledger of every transaction that's moved through Hyfin. We designed it to make reconciliation simple, searchable, filterable, and clear on status, so merchants can find any payment without digging through statements.

Sometimes merchants need to ask for money outside a formal invoice. We designed Payment Requests as a lighter-weight flow, quick to create and send, and built for one-off asks rather than full billing cycles.

Before the invoice comes the quote. We designed Estimates to let merchants send pricing upfront and convert it straight into an invoice once approved, keeping the sales-to-payment handoff in one flow instead of two disconnected tools.

Subscriptions and installment plans need to run without anyone remembering to hit send. We designed Recurring to automate repeat billing: set it up once, and Hyfin handles the charge, the reminder, and the record.

The simplest way to get paid is a link. We designed Payment Links so merchants can generate one in seconds and send it anywhere text, email, or a QR code with no invoice or account required on the customer's end.

For merchants selling products rather than services, Orders ties payment to what was actually purchased. We designed it to connect line items and fulfillment status directly to the payment record.

Customers need their own place to view and pay what they owe, without creating a full account. We designed a self-serve portal where customers can see invoice history and pay outstanding balances directly.

Getting a new merchant live, verified, connected to a bank, and ready to accept payments is a process with real compliance weight. We designed onboarding to walk merchants through it step by step, without making it feel like paperwork.

Field teams and service providers need to take payment on the spot, from a phone. We designed the mobile experience around the core flows: invoicing, payment links, and checkout, so merchants aren't tied to a desk to get paid.

To support Hyfin's own growth, we designed marketing page templates that merchants and the Hyfin team can use to promote the product consistently, in step with the new design language.
